One boy’s musical pilgrimage, celebrating the 300th Anniversary of J.S. Bach’s Suites for Solo Cello in honor of his hero, Pau Casals.
Roma Graves, age 13, embarks on a musical journey with the aim of performing the complete Bach Suites for Solo Cello from memory in a single concert format.
The international tour includes performances from Terragona, Spain where the music was discovered by a young 13 years old Pau Casals in 1899 to Köthen, Germany where the music was written by J.S. Bach in 1723.
Roma’s performances celebrate the extraordinary and unlikely events of Casal’s discovery at age 13 and honors his efforts to promote peace and social justice.

—1889 - Pau Casals discovers the suites at age 13 near Barcelona, Spain. They had gone unnoticed for 166 years.
