the art of: doing things alone ✨🪞💡🪄

I would consider myself an extroverted introvert. I love to put myself out there, network and be social but I really recharge in my alone time. I rarely ever feel lonely.

and I think that’s because I am truly my own best friend. I feel comfortable being alone with my own company and thoughts. to me, this time is an act of self-love. it’s a way to check in with my needs, energy, dreams, goals, desires and emotions.

when you do things alone, for yourself, you remove the need to seek validation from others. you affirm your own self worth. you learn to complete yourself. you find joy in all that you can offer yourself. you can discover your strengths and passions.

doing things alone isn’t sad. just because I go to dinner alone doesn’t mean I don’t have people that I could go with. just because I solo travel doesn’t mean I can’t invite friends. doing things alone is a choice I make in order to remain connected and grounded to Self.

in a world that often celebrates ‘we’ — couples, roommates, friends, family, teams, etc… the ‘I’ often gets overshadowed or looked down upon.
