When do grades really matter?

Throughout all of our educational lives, we have been instructed to push ourselves to be the best of the best and get the highest grades possible. Looking back, there are definitely times I drove too hard when in reality, getting the A+ over the a had little to no impact on my life.

So when do grades really matter?

High school transcripts are crucial for college acceptance. Middle school will never be looked at again, however, high school grades are what can make or break your application to colleges. Pair with your SAT grade, and you are basically put through a filtering system to see if you meet the minimum requirements for the university.

Overall, GPA for grad schools as well. Many programs will have prerequisites that require a minimum grade as well. Classes outside of the listed prerequisites will not be weighted as heavily, however, they will still impact your overall GPA and require you to pass.

Once you are in graduate school, I have learned that passing is passing! Employers do not look at what grade you got in pharmacology, they simply care that you have your degree and past your board exams! This is a great time for you to finally use the phrase “sees get degrees“. This is not to say you should not try your hardest, but it is also validating to know that not receiving straight is a perfectly fine way to live! As long as you are doing your best and passing your classes, that is all anyone can ask of you!
