Must-try snacks in Tokyo!

For when you’re full but still have space for small snacks, desserts, and drinks 😋

Selling fried sandwiches filled with sweet or savory toppings, what’s not to love about this place?! The cream is smooth and light, but beware of the custard flavors as it is q messy while eating 😅 Would recommend to have a drink with you as it gets quite sweet after a while (if you order the sweet flavors). They also sell other desserts in the shop.

No seating area but there’s a small playground nearby where you can sit to eat.

2. Special Matcha Sweets Kaminari Issa

We tried the normal matcha latte with 4g of matcha, not too bad, smooth and rich. But tbh pretty pricey for us to visit a second time. Prices increase with more grams of powder. They also sell matcha desserts and sweets that you can buy back as souvenirs. However, Asakusa is a tourist area so do expect higher prices.

3. Asakusa Menchi

Minced pork and beef with onions covered in deep fried crispy bread crumbs - heaven!! I hate onions but it added an essential sweetness that brought the croquette’s flavor together so well. The queue moves fast and the food is hot, literally not a single bad thing to comment about this place! Must try!!

4. Cremia Ice Cream

Was searching all ard to try some Cremia at Asakusa when we finally spotted this shop that had it! It’s really unique and recommended to try at least once as you can’t find such cones in Singapore. The cone has the same texture and taste as the popular Hokkaido Shiroi Koibito but beware! it melts really fast as the cone cannot hold the cream as well as regular cones 😅 we also saw some places in Osaka selling matcha flavor so that’s on my food list for my next trip ~

5. Parlor Vinefru

Parlor Vinefru is a dessert shop that sells Kakigori and Fluffy pancakes! The portion is actually quite big so I would recommend sharing between 2 pax and ordering a drink to hit the minimum order. We tried the Pistachio Strawberry flavor and the cream was so light and nutty that even my pistachio hating husband loved it LOL. There are also strawberries and nuts inside the kakigori so you’re not just eating ice. It’s perfect for a sunny day ~ You can check out their IG for seasonal flavors as well!

6. Iyoshi Cola

Iyoshi Cola is a Japanese Craft Cola shop that uses herbs to create a cola soda taste. I love Japan’s cola so much … it tastes like ginger beer so if u are a ginger beer lover like me PLS TRY!! We got the 2 basic flavors but we’ll definitely be back to try the milk and tea flavors hehe. The Japan Edition flavor has got pulp so if that’s not your thing you can get the Dreamy Flavor. If you cannot head down to their shop, you can try finding a can of Iyoshi Cola (Dreamy Flavour only) at Natural Lawson where they sell some of these bougie items and it only costs ¥400 there!
