Morgan Amps has done it yet again by dreaming up a fantastic boutique tube head that boasts some of the best low-wattage AC30 tones I've heard! The Morgan AC5 is a point-to-point, EL84 powered 5-watt amp head leaning heavily into the Vox AC30 vibe. With its rich mid-range and sparkly chime and presence, the AC5 is quickly becoming my favorite low-wattage tube head.

The Morgan lineup of amps features a handful of classics, from the beloved AC20, Morgan MVP23, PR12 and more - but Joe's Morgan Custom Shop seeks to offer some small batch, custom and limited run amps. Morgan launched this line of five watt amps in 2023 - beginning with the 6V6 powered FIVE (which you can check out below) and broadening to include a TWEED version and this Vox-inspired AC5.
