After Facial Care! The Do's✅❌ & Don'ts ❌

It’s your girl Nicole and I’ve recently got a facial hence the butchered face and this time my problems was actually more serious compared to previous facials and I was telling my facialist what my after care is like and she told me somethings that I’ve been doing was wrong so I would like to share some of those tips with you! My lovely lemon8 familia!

Aftercare Tips

☝🏼MOST IMPORTANT: Patience!

Patience is definitely key in this!

✌🏼DO NOT pick at the scars and scabs!

I’ve learned it the hard way and it actually made my scab worse and it delayed the healing. I got impatient and started picking at it till pus actually came out and i had to apply topical medication so that it won’t get infected!

3️⃣AVOID skincare with actives!

Skin is exfoliated during the facial, and over-exfoliating can lead to inflammation, irritation, and irreversible damage.

Other harsh products, like retinols, at-home peels, and salicylic acid-based cleansers or toners should also be avoided for a few days, as they turn that radiant glow into red, irritated skin.

4️⃣ Use gentle cleansers

Our skin is more sensitive than otherwise after a facial. Using a gentle cleanser will allow your skin barrier to stay intact, while removing dirt, debris and unwanted grease off your face.

✋🏼Double Cleanse

Not only is a double cleanse meant to give a more thorough cleanse, but it can also revitalise dull skin and allow other skin care products to penetrate more effectively.

6️⃣Apply a soothing sheet mask

A cooling face mask can cleanse all the dirt & dust that might have accumulated throughout the day. The masking lets the ingredients in your mask deeply penetrate into your skin which a normal cleanser might not be able to.
