Things to know before going to Korea‼️🇰🇷

I went to Korea last month and here are some things you should know before going to Korea!!

1️⃣ 𝗘𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿 𝗘𝘁𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗲

In Singapore, we always stand on the left side of the escalator. However, in Korea, remember to stand on the RIGHT side!! There were so many times I just stood on the left side so proudly while blocking other people😅😅

2️⃣ 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰 𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗯𝘂𝘁𝘁𝗼𝗻❌❌

DO NOT press the button for the traffic light! In Singapore, we are so used to pressing it to make it change faster but the ones in Korea is actually for the senior citizens and handicapped!!!

3️⃣ 𝗣𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁 𝘃𝗮𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗶𝘁𝘆🛂

Ok this one kinda common sense but VERY important!!! MUST MUST CHECK if your passport have at least 6️⃣months of validity!

4️⃣ 𝗞-𝗘𝗧𝗔

Remember to apply for your K-ETA early!!! This is the electronic travel visa that you need to apply if you are visiting South Korea. It cost about SGD13!💵

Do try to apply as early as possible because you would need to wait for it to get approved, mine took a few days but it is suggested to apply 1 month in advance to avoid any inconveniences!!

5️⃣ 𝗤-𝗖𝗼𝗱𝗲

You will have to register for a Q-Code with your vaccination records. Once registered, a QR code will be sent to your email.

+ Once again, print it out!🖨️

6️⃣ 𝗕𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗿𝗮 𝗖𝗔𝗦𝗛!!💵

Most places accept card, however you will definitely need cash for street foods! Cash would also be needed when you want to top up your transportation card (T Money Card).

We didn’t bring enough cash and had to use our cash very wisely before we can find the ATM machine🥵🥵

7️⃣ 𝗔𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘆 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗽!💳

It’s something like a debit card! A multi-currency mobile wallet and a contactless mastercard to make payments in over 150 countries with no fees!

You just have to top up money into the card, tap and that’s it!!
