hello! as a jc2 student, my schedule is prettyyyy damn packed. i start school at about 8am, and i usually end at 6/9pm including cca 🥹 i was just telling my friend how sad our schedules are because we literally just eat, study, train and sleep HAHAH but tbh i’m surprised myself how i don’t burn out, so here are 4 tips that may help you!!
💯 stop being a perfectionist
mistakes are very normal and very okay. i started taking h3 chem this year (basically higher level chem that is similar to uni?) and oh boy it’s tough. i think i got at least half of my tutorial questions wrong which is not very typical as i would say i’m good at h2 chem 🤧 but it’s okay to fail and make mistakes! be more forgiving to yourself and don’t set such high expectations — you’ll find work much more enjoyable that way and you’re less likely to burn out
🐥 emotional support toy
if you grew up too fast, maybe consider living your childhood rn? HAHAH being childish and playing around makes work way more enjoyable, especially when you have the company of your favourite soft toy 🫶🏻 yeah i bring my duck everyday to school and my teachers are all used to it 😁
😂 find humour in your work
imagine memorising everything or taking your notes as… just that. i think that’s really sad and much less motivating -> burn out easier. you can make stories, dirty jokes or whatever with your school content! in picture 4, my class was learning the colour of the solution with elementary colour theory and we all found it super funny and enjoyable; and we remember it! for biology, i like to come up with pick up lines: eg im f- and you’re f+… wanna form a mating bridge? 😋 im a host cell you can penetrate me 😚 (yeah i have unmatched rizz)
💤 take breaks
okay but really you need your sleep and rest. you are NOT a robot. you are a human before you are a student, or employee, or whatever work you do. take care of yourself — in that way, you are also taking care of your grades/work 🫶🏻🫶🏻
hope these 4 tips help! do you have any other tips to prevent burn out? lmk in the comments below~
