getting your VROOM license --> Private route 🚗

i got my license back in 2021 and i chose to take the private route. Here's a step by step guide if you're thinking of getting yours!! 🚙

🚗 Firstly, why private?

1. More flexible

- Pick and choose lesson timing as and when you wish (driving schools have fixed schedules and long waiting list)

- Choose lesson location and drop off (ie. sometimes i asked my instructor if i could end my lesson near an MRT station)

2. Consistent instructor

- Instructor is the same throughout your course of learning, so there's no need to worry about consistency

3. More cost efficient

- no need to spend $$ on theory lessons

- can choose no. of lessons --> so if you're feeling confident, can opt for less lessons before driving test

You can read up more here if you're considering school as well, but it generally costs more to learn with schools.

🚗 Steps

1. Apply for BTT (even if you have no instructor, JUST APPLY AND TAKE ASAPPPP. Results are valid forever) Download the app called "TP tests" and do the practice papers. No need to buy books or go for lessons honestly.

2. Apply for provisional driving license so you can start learning on the roads!

3. Whilst you are learning, apply for FTT and your 3 simulator lessons!!! (Book your simulator sessions all at once, trust me)

4. Once ready, take the test and apply for your driving license!!

Overall, it costs me <$2000 to get my license. It is imperative that you listen for tips from your instructor and try to pass in one go 🤪
