you should shop on CAROUSELL 🫵🛍️🌱

we all know how terrible fast fashion is… especially its IMPACT ON THE ENVIRONMENT !!!! 👎👎❌ i don’t think i have to elaborate anymore on this… but so many clothes remain unworn and end up in the landfill due to our unfortunate shopping addiction!

i’ve always wanted to lead a more sustainable life and be a part of the circular economy, but we all know that it isn’t the cheapest or easiest lifestyle to adopt… like i understand the temptation of shein/ taobao/ shopee clothing because it’s just SO CHEAP - perfect for broke students like me and many of you out there 💸💸 so here’s a small habit i’ve cultivated to try and make the earth a little better 🌱:

when i do my usual scrolling on shein/taobao/shopee and see smth i like, instead of adding it to my cart, i’ll take a screenshot of the product and reverse image search it on CAROUSELL 🫶 and i’ve gotten so many of my basics & trendier pieces from here! ((disclaimer: only if i can’t find the item on carousell & if i really really really want it, then i’ll resort to purchasing from those platforms))

🤑CHEAPER DEALS🤑

high chances are there are many other impulsive shoppers that bought the item and realise that they either don’t like the item/ the item doesn’t fit them/ etc. and most of the time, these items are still brand new or worn a few times at most! and the best part: you can bargain for a cheaper price, and end up paying A LOT CHEAPER than r.t.p

i’ve gotten so many Shein, TTR and Taobao items from carousell at a fraction of the cost (especially now that there’s 8% gst and delivery fees)💰

💡and one more plus point: you can receive your items much quicker since local mail is so much faster 📦 + many sellers actually may just give u free delivery 🤩

and think abt it this way: even if you don’t get a cheaper deal, you’re giving the SAME piece of clothing a second chance at life, which would have just end up in the landfill polluting the environment, so why waste even more resources from fast fashion brands’ factories just to produce a new item for you? ☠️

i hope this post would encourage you to rethink your shopping habits and adopt a more sustainable lifestyle, one small step at a time, for the sake of mother earth 🌍💓
