Ive tried every single diet you can think of when I was struggling to lose weight. Intermittent fasting (IF), no/low carb diet, fruit diet, juice diet, high protein diet. Guess what? None of those worked for me. Honestly you see so many diet routines online, not knowing which one to follow. My advice? try until you find what works for you. If you realize IF isnt working out after 2-3 months? stop it.

Here are my 3 diet rules I followed to lose over 20kgs!

1. Lesser sugar

I am a dessert girly. Ice cream, waffles, cakes, you name it, I like it. But this had to go when I was dieting. I switched to other alternatives like HOME MADE acai bowls, yogurt, more fruit. Coke zero was my best friend when I wanted something to perk me up. My coffees were either black no sugar or with milk without sugar.

2. Lesser meat and more seafood

1 cup of shrimp is only 99 calories and 100 grams of clams only 148 calories. I'm not asking you to calorie count, just try to eat less calorie dense foods. When I was calorie counting with myfitnesspal, my eating disorder spiraled more. Just opt for food options that are lower in calories!

3. Carbs in moderation

I said in moderation but to be honest, I ate so much more carbs than I did before weight loss. This may not work for everyone but it worked for me. Which is why i said to find out what works best for you.

Realise that i didnt omit stuff out from my diet? its always lesser, lower and not NO CARB DIET. I slowly took red and white meat out of my diet and transitioned to more seafood so it wasnt a cold turkey thing. Listen to your body, find what works for you, be patient and kind to yourself. I always believe something will work for you - you just need to find it.
