the BEST home decision for our cat 😻

Our cat (Theo) is a very important member of our home and has free reign of the house, so it was a no-brainer for us to install a cat door to our master bedroom because it’s his bedroom as well! 🫶🏼

While pet flaps can be purchased on Shopee/Taobao, the installation requires multiple special tools and isn’t really something you can DIY. We engaged Jason (@/sgdoorstephandyman) from Carousell to help us with installation, and it was really fuss-free.

🛠️ THE PROCESS 🛠️

1️⃣📏 After measuring placement and tracing the outline of the door, drill holes in the four corners to guide cutting.

2️⃣🪚 Use an electric cutter/saw tool to cut straight lines along the four sides.

3️⃣🪛 Remove the rectangular middle piece and fit in the pet flap. Secure the door on both sides using the screws provided.

🐱 REVIEW 🐱

This was our second time engaging Jason to install the same model of cat flap, and both times were really quick and fuss-free! While we initially wanted a nicer cat flap, we ended up getting this because

🐾 it was really hard to find a nicer pet flap

🐾 the brown turned out to be a perfect match for our doors (a happy coincidence!) 🚪

🐾 our previous cat flap lasted for a year with no issues 👍🏼

Theo really loves the cat flap, and though the learning process was a little challenging for him at first, now he has no problems at all! With this, Theo is able to come and go about his cat business at night without having the bedroom’s aircon leak out, and he uses the door as a window every morning while waiting for us to wake up 😹 While he used to BONK in and out in the past (we nicknamed him Bonkers because of this), now he’s able to slink in and out silently 😻
