THINGS I WISHED I KNEW BEFORE VISITING NYC

Well, honestly I really didn’t do my research before I travel, ain’t that sort of guy😗 Here’s a few things that will come useful when you’re out exploring the Big Apple! 🍎

1. NYC is split into 5 boroughs, or “areas”. These are Manhatten, Brooklyn, Queens, The Bronx and Staten Island. Manhatten is the citycity where I spent most of my time. Brooklyn has lots of flea markets and seems more chillax, cant comment on the rest bc I didn’t rly bother checking those out LOL

2. The subway operates 24/7

Which is great lo, no expensive cab fees aft clubbing, but everything in NYC was q pricey alr la

3. TIP at places where you get your food served to you.

General consensus is 20% of the total bill, heartbreaking.

4. Zipcodes aren’t the same as postal codes in SG

I know this bc my friend gave me his address, and I obviously only took note of the zipcode and got v lost

5. Uptown, Downtown in Manhatten

The city is very conveniently organised into streets and avenues. Streets run from First street to 200+ street and avenues run from 1st ave to whatever the highest number is LOL. You’re moving downtown towards first street and brooklyn and uptown towards 200+ street and the bronx. ezpz

6. YOU CAN GET STUDENT TICKETS FOR THE MUSEUMS U VISIT, dont need pay full price, or just key a new york zipcode as ur residence on some museums’ websites and you can get entry for free!!!!!! Life hack frfr
