How I realised pharm sci was NOT for me ❌💊🙅🏻‍♀️

For context: I studied pharmaceutical science in poly ~~

Throughout my entire poly life, it sure wasn’t easy as i faced many ups and downs & to make matters worse, my batch was the covid batch 😩 so we had NO orientations & lessons were all home based till y2s2 where lessons in school started to resume. At that point, it was really hard for me to adjust to my school’s system & it was also really hard for all of us to make friends 😖. To add on, since we had no orientation, there weren’t any seniors that i could go to for tips/advices at the start of my poly year so i basically just learnt things along the way ((not the best idea if u want to be that ✨top✨ student imo))

So for the entire 3 years i had in poly, yes, everything was 90% science Science SCIENCE 🤓🧬🦠🧪💊🧫 but it was too late for me to do anything ((not like i could change course or wtv)) as i realized that wtv science i was learning WAS. NOT. IT. but anyway, i still stuck through it and tried to make the best out of it 😋 ((all thanks to my nice poly frens hehe))

🧠 LOTS OF MEMORY WORK 🧠

This is no joke when it comes to pharm sci due to the crazy amount of drugs that we have to memorise on a daily basis 😖. I mean, i don’t really have a problem with this since im GENERALLY OKAY with memorising but sometimes it just gets too much & it really tested all of ((including mine)) our limits & there were points where i just felt like giving up BUT of course, i pushed through it 💪🏼 as i did not want my efforts to go to waste !! I guess one takeaway from this is that you will have better memory ?? 😂

🧪MODULES🧪

The modules that i learnt in MY poly, i gotta admit, its really v interesting but if ure not a 100% science person like me 🤓, let’s be honest here, there WILL DEFINITELY be modules that you’ll find harder/will be slower to understand ((or maybe you’ll just find everything really hard to understand)) but ITS OKAY. If the course is something that you really like, i’m sure you will find ways to overcome it such as by asking ur lecturers/peers. But if you’re like me & decided that “nah this isn’t it” for wtv reasons, then i guess u gotta start thinking about ur future plans 😖. All i can say at this point is to just push through it (again) & just try to enjoy & make the best out of it ((well, at least i did))

👩🏻‍🔬 INTERNSHIP👩🏻‍🔬

Ok tbh THIS WAS THE MAIN REASON why I decided that pharm sci was not for me as the place that i was attached to for my intern …. i would say WAS NOT the most welcoming at all ((environment, staffs’ attitude etc)) & from there, it made me realise how much i did NOT want to be in that industry anymore ((& due to other factors as well such as pay & career progression etc)) so there’s that.

💭 FUTURE PLANS: Managed to get into a uni course that I really like & HOPEFULLY i will be able to establish a career from there in the future! 🥹
