As most of you should know, there are so so many night markets in Taiwan and I literally went to a night market for dinner everyday when I was there LOL cuz the food is yummy and cheap πŸ˜‹

These were some of the night markets that I’ve been to during my recent trip and you can decide whether to save them for your next Taiwan trip! πŸ€ͺ

1. SHILIN NIGHT MARKET

This is the most popular night market and everyone who has gone to Taiwan will prob have gone to this place at least once! It’s prob one of the largest and OG night markets in Taipei and is a top attraction there. They have many food and game stalls (including mahjong LOL) there. There are also q a few stalls that sell trendy items such as clothes, bags, and many more there!

Recommended food there:

Hot Star fried chicken (idt other Taipei night markets have)

Fried crabmeat stick

Seasoned mushroom

Grilled large squid (they will cut it up for you)

Address: Ningxia Road, Datong District, Taipei City 103

Nearest station: Shuanglian Station and Zhongshan Station

Opening hours: Daily, 5:30pm to 12am

2. RAOHE ST. NIGHT MARKET

Apparently this night market is even older than Shilin night market and is also another place that is highly visited by tourists. Though it is not as big as Shilin, but it has a variety of unique food such as Sheng Jian bao, black pepper bun

Recommended food there:

Fu Zhou Shi Zu Pepper Bun

Sheng Jian Bao (I can’t rmb the name:( but it’s just one stall there that sells this)

Beef Angus cubes (I can’t eat beef but my bf said it’s v nice and they were generous w the portion as well)

Golden Award Dongshan Duck Head (ι‡‘θ³žζ±ε±±ι΄¨ι ) (I didn’t eat this but I think it’s prob v nice cuz there’s a super long queue but we were too tired and hungry to queue LOL)

Address: Raohe Street, Songshan District, Taipei City, Taiwan 105

Nearest station: Songshan Station

Opening hours: Daily, 4pm to 12am

3. TONG HUA NIGHT MARKET

This night market is very near Taipei 101 (just one stop away) and it has many local eats and is also starting to gain popularity among tourists!

Recommended food there:

Mala soup

Sheng Jian Buns

Gua Bao (Taiwanese burger)

Address: Alley 1, Lane 40, Linjiang Street, Da’an District, Taipei City, Taiwan 106

Nearest station: Xinye Anhe Station

Opening hours: Daily, 6pm to 12am

4. FENG JIA NIGHT MARKET

DO NOTE that this night market is in Taichung and is also one of the biggest, if not biggest night markets in Taiwan. Tbh the food there is almost the same as Shilin as well but they are actually more expensive :’) so you can just go there only if you are in Taichung πŸ™ƒ

Address: Wenhua Rd, Xitun District, Taichung City, Taiwan 407

Location: TaiChung

Opening hours: Daily, 4pm-2am

5. SHIDA NIGHT MARKET

Please DON’T GO to this night market unless you are nearby and just wanna take a look at the place LOL bc there’s rly nth night market related there, it’s really small and there are just a few food stalls from what I rmb so meh idt it was worth the trip for us to specifically go there

It only has some bars, cafes and restaurants around the area so doesn’t rly have the night market vibe 🧐😩

But if you rly insist on gg there still -

Address: Lane 39, Shida Road, Da’an District, Taipei City, Taiwan 106

Nearest station: Taipower Building Station

Opening hours: Daily, 8am to 10pm

tbh the food in all the night markets are more or less the same (eg. Chicken cutlet, mee sua, skewers, potato balls etc.) but I just love going to their diff night markets every night whenever I’m in Taiwan bc of the vibes & apart from the food, there are many diff clothes, shoes or souvenir stores that you can shop at as well ~ 😎😝
