Solemnisation Prep ✨ EVERYTHING you need to know!

Ok so here goes my tips and (some regrets) that I hope are useful for y’all!✨

1. REHEARSE REHEARSE REHEARSE

✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨

- set aside AT LEAST 45mins - 1 hour on the day itself to walk through sequence of events and actions with key persons present ie emcee, who is walking you down the aisle, music controller etc

- MUST PRACTICE how your father holds your hand / handover your hand to groom!!! And even what is your dad going to say to the groom when he hands you over?? I’m sure many of us are shy asians where our love language with our parents is not touch and words haha so please rehearse this to prevent any awkwardness during the actual march in

- rehearse your March in and outs, be aware of any space constraints, orientations ie groom on the right or left? How to get in/out of your chairs? Any poses? Photo moments?

- btwww make sure to adjust your chairs after sitting down to avoid misalignments in your photos 😂

- have your photographer and videographer be there during rehearsal too and you will get some bonus candid pics with no crowd!!

2. Your emcee is very important!!

- he/she is going to be facilitator of the crowd!!! Make sure to brief them thoroughly and even do dry runs if needed

- brief audience on seating, confetti throwing, warm the crowd, etc

- be sure to have a logical sequence for group photo takings and have your emcee facilitate to avoid inefficiencies and chaos

- please please rely on your emcee to facilitate so that you don’t sweat and get anxious over the small things - your job today is to LOOK GOOOOOD!!

- gift them an angbao for the hard work at the end of the day! Engage a professional emcee if you have to (if you don’t have a suitable friend who can help/ if you really don’t want to trouble your friends!)

3. Hold a piece of tissue with your hand bouquet!!

- or have some tissue on the table (without ruining the table aesthetics like maybe put it under your vow cards haha)

- just in case you sob like a potato

- pls pls use waterproof makeup

4. Table prep checklist!

- your ICs

- witnesses’ ICs

- all the docs you collected from ROM

- vow cards

- RINGS

- pens for signing!

5. Just 1 simple March out pose!

- this one pose will have a very high effort to reward ratio!!!

- nice pic and cheers / hype from your loved ones!!

- I will be sharing about how easy it is to do the dip pose we did (follow me to not miss it! 😆)

6. Don’t underestimate the amount of help you need

✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨

- like I mentioned earlier, your job today is to LOOK GOOD (don’t let all the money spent on dolling up go to waste!!)

- there is a lot of behind the scene works on the actual day itself, like coordinating the crowd, making sure people are engaged, setting up (even the tiniest detail like the table cloth crumpled?), playing and stopping the music at the right time, so on and so forth!

- take time in advance to brief your team if needed! Having a detailed event programme plan (like the one I’m sharing) will help too

- if you are shy to ask for help from your friends, engage a planner/ coordinator, it will really help!
