we are almost halfway through the year and imo the sambas and 550s are def starting to see a lil dip in popularity.

these silhouettes are being replaced by the technical running + hiking shoes that give off that retro vintage techwear / early 2000s aesthetic. typically featuring breathable mesh, hints of silver paneling and overall less chunk.

this is definitely thanks to the rise of gorpcore - taking traditionally functional + technical outdoor gear and styling for everyday wear. i’ve included some from my collection + more examples here ⇩
