dating in SECRET?

Firstly... I did not expect to have the opportunities to work with my boyfriend 🥹 both in terms of part time jobs & now in sports... I always assumed the worst thing you can do to your relationship is to mix business with pleasure... but here I am proving myself wrong... 😑

Our first part time job together was at the Vaccination Centre, he was the vaccinator, I was the healthcare assistant. He was working there fews months before I joined (which he insisted I join because good $). He changed location to the location I was in - so we had a lot of time together, we would take the same breaks 🥰 Everything was in the community centre hall so we could see each other from across the room.

My boyfriend STRESSED that when we were at work - we had to maintain professionalism. Which meant ZERO signs of us being in a relationship. Even if we went on breaks together, we would just act like friends. Aunties working there assumed we were... SIBLINGS 🤢 but after awhile, people started noticing but we still kept it professional 👍🏼

Benefit was he got to give me my first two jabs of the covid vaccine + definitely a lunch buddy (truly a flex) 🤭 also he's really great at vaccinating, it was 0 pain 👍🏼

The vaccination centre closed down - so we went to another vaccination centre job. Again, same roles. This vaccination centre was in the middle of nowhere so there were only three halal places you would go to eat, so yes again everyone noticed. This time, because we were in completely different buildings - I think some people caught on, but most didn't 🫣

Currently, in canoeing. We're both under different schools (but because he was a captain, he got some privileges 👀). We have been training together, in a K2 boat together for Pesta Sukan! but I also train with my own school sometimes. We don't really acknowledge each other when we're in separate trainings UNLESS he comes to help me (give me advice etc). It was hard to keep it a secret because ... I had no options of what to wear so I kept wearing my boyfriend's team shirts to training.... 😮‍💨

My advice:

✅ Stay Private (zero PDA pls... dont make it awkward for people....)

✅ Settle things outside of work (whatever fights etc... don't let it affect your job)

✅ Make friends at work (they will keep you occupied, but at the same time - do take some time with ur partner whenever you can 😊)

✅ Support and clear communication (just because they know u doesn't mean they can read your mind...)
