I regretted my wedding 😕

Just to point out, I don't regret getting married. I only regretted having done a 'big' wedding ceremony. I say 'big' because weddings in my tradition are usually more than 150 pax with 1000 pax being the norm.The silver lining to the COVID regulations then were that we couldn't hold anything more than 150. So, I thought I got a better end of the bargain with a lesser crowd. But it turns out that when you fit that amount of people in the same room, it's quite a crowd.

I truly thought that if I went through with this ceremony, at least I would have experienced how it felt like to be the 'star of the show', so to speak. Looking back, I was nothing but stressed, overwhelmed & just hated being in the limelight. It was an introverts' worst nightmare. I just couldn't wait to end.

Now, when I hear stories about married couples reminiscing about their wedding day as the best day of their lives, I get a little bittersweet because I don't feel the same way. If I had a do-over, I definitely would've insisted on a smaller and intimate wedding.
