There are few things as satisfying as a good chicken sandwich! Here are four spots in NYC that have created an exceptionally good one!
Port Sa’id is a new restaurant in Hudson Square serving Mediterranean fare. I loved their Chicken Sandwich Tarnegolet with chopped chicken, greens, and lots of dill served on a soft, challah bread with a side of spicy olives.
Round K by Sol is a cafe on the Lower East Side with a speakeasy lounge and outdoor patio serving excellent eggs, sandwiches, drinks, and more. I absolutely loved their chicken sandwich with double fried chicken, avocado, coleslaw, and sweet and spicy sauce with garlic chips.
DIG on Bleecker has all of DIG’s classic menu items + a few additional elevated options, like this Charred Chicken Club with smashed avocado and red peppers served on a housemade focaccia bread.
Pecking House is best known for their spicy fried chicken, which at one point during the pandemic (prior to the opening of their brick-and-mortar store) had a 10,000 person waitlist! I love their Spicy Chicken Sandwich, which features their spicy fried chicken, jalapeños, and oaxaca cheese sauce on a thin brioche bread. If you try only one sandwich from this list, let it be this one!
