HOW TO CLEAN OUT YOUR CLOSET! (shirt edition)

All my friends know that when I’m cleaning out my closet I always donate/sell an insane amount of clothing, so I thought I’d share how I make the tough decisions between keeping and not!

Step 1 is to be harsh. When I’m starting to clean out my closet I always make three piles: keep, maybes, and definitely gone. Pieces I find myself having to think harder about are those that are cute, but I never wear because they’re too hard to style. For me, shirts that are bright, loud, and colorful usually end up in the gone pile because I know someone else could make them work better than I could.

Step 2 is to go back through the maybes and think about whether they could be worn to specific events that you won’t want to shop for, ie. interviews. It’s always important to keep professional clothing on tap in case things pop up!

If you’re still stuck on some pieces, step 3 is to think what season the shirt reminds you of and ask yourself if you wore it that time last year. If you didn’t wear it last year, chances are you won’t wear it this year. Peace it ✌🏼
