Book Review: Things We Left Behind 🩷 [No Spoilers]

Lucy Score, the famous author of the Knockemout series is back with her final book from this series!

Things We Left Behind (Book #3 ) was released on Sept 5th and I had to read it because this was actually my most anticipated book of 2023!

Things We Left Behind is a story about Lucian and Sloane. I was actually waiting for their story since Book #2…and their story indeed started way before they even realised! 🥹

Lucian is a vengeance-seeking mogul who aims to erase his father’s mark on the family name. He builds empires and is a man of power — but somehow feels powerless when it comes to a certain feisty small-town librarian, Sloane Walton.

What I loved:

⭐️ Enemies-to-lovers banter. I think this doesn’t need much explanation — the banter between these two had me smiling throughout the book!!

⭐️ Fear of ending up like your parent. Just because you share the same blood as your parent, doesn’t necessarily mean you will end up a 100% like them. In this case, Lucian was so afraid that he would end up hurting Sloane, because of how his father is. I think this fear is valid, and I love how the author portrayed it so well in this book.

What I didn’t like:

⭐️ Draggy. This book was 658 pages but honestly, it could’ve been shorter. I did find some parts a little draggy/repetitive.
