Feeling bloated is no fun. It happens to everyone, and it is nothing to be ashamed of, but having a few little remedies up your sleeve for when it happens can come in handy. These are some of my favorite stretching positions that really help calm my tummy and help me feel back to good again.

Anything where there is a lateral stretch involved in GREAT! Opening up the sides of the body and breathing deeply into the ribs can offer great relief for those pesky bloating symptoms of heaviness in the stomach. You can do different positions with your legs to switch it up too… sitting cross legged, one leg over the other, or like I am showing with one leg out to the side and the other folded inwards. As long as the side of your body is open and you are breathing deeply.

Seated twists are WONDERFULLY for helping with bloating, During twists, the digestive organs are constricted, and then when you open the body back up new blood flow is welcomed. Sometimes when holding a twist you can feel slight pressure in the tummy and feeling of instant relief. Like with any stretch, the most important thing to do is BREATHE. Take long inhales through the nose and exhales through the mouth.
