I have recently been taking magnesium before bed every night and so far, I think it has been doing me well! Effects may take time to show up, of course.

Magnesium does a lot for your body like regulating blood sugar, supporting healthy bones, may improve sleep, may improve headaches, and more. But it also does a good bit for your mental health! Magnesium may reduce symptoms of stress, anxiety and depression. Many people swear by magnesium for their anxiety! It also has a calming effect on the body due to it helping the control of neurotransmitters in the brain.

I used to have trouble sleeping and sometimes would take melatonin. However, melatonin is something your body naturally produces and taking it often made me feel groggy. I didn't want something as powerful, but I wanted something just to help me calm down at night.

These magnesium chewables are perfect! I take two, I bought the offbrand from Target and they're great.

Magnesium is found in some foods too if you don't want a supplement! Try adding more leafy greens like spinach, or legumes, nuts, seeds, whole grains, and other foods rich in fiber to your diet.
