i paid off my uni debt at 21! 🥳 ($21,000)

I’VE PAID OFF MY UNI DEBT!!! Say congrats now 🤍

In case you’re going through a similar situation where you have to pay off your school fees, here’s my experience.

🤍 My degree: Part-time degree, 2 years

💰 Price: $21,000+

HOW I PAID IT OFF 🤑:

My school offered an instalment plan- where I can break the payment up into 4. Essentially, I had to pay $5000+ every 4 months. There were also bridging modules, which were $500 each time. So every 4 months, I had to pay around $5500.

I looked at it from a monthly expenses POV- could I afford to set aside $1400 per month? As I was working full-time, the answer was yes. I set aside that amount from my pay each month. I didn’t manage to put any money into my long-term savings account during that period though :/

That being said, was it worth it? YES. This was definitely my biggest purchase yet… reinvesting into my future. Plus, it felt soooo good to be able to pay it off on my own.
