the reason he broke up with me..

There are soo many reasons why relationships end (I’d love it if you shared your story below) and honestly it can be SO beneficial to learn from those reasons. I figured this could be a safe space that we could all share our stories to bond and help those out that might need it.

I ask that we keep the comments judgement-free since these stories are very vulnerable. <3

Here’s why mine ended:

I started out as best friends with this guy. We ended up becoming exclusive and last lasted about 6 months. Near the end it started getting pretty toxic. We broke up because he did something that deeply hurt me. We didn’t speak for about 4 months. After those 4 months, we came into each other’s lives again and he truly had changed. This time we had a much heathier relationship. However, one thing that always separated us was our faith. I believe in God and he wasn’t really about that. He was extremely respectful of it and we wanted things to work out. After about 8 or so months, he decided to end things with me because he knew he could never be the guy I truly wanted. He knew I wanted someone who loved God and would raise our kids going to church, etc. I get really attached to people and even though I knew I should end things, it was too hard for me. So he did it for me. And it broke both our hearts but ultimately was the best decision for us.

I’m now happily married to a wonderful man who shares my belief in God. I know some couples with different beliefs can make it work, but I knew that I needed to be with another person who shares my faith. That is a non-negotiable for me.

To those of you looking for your forever person, or if you’ve just recently gone through a breakup, I want you to know that everything happens for a reason. Please believe that everything will work out.
