My Favourite Way to Manage Time

I love time-blocking!

It makes me aware of where and how I spend my time, as well as helps me stay on track with my work. Effective time management is key for having more discipline, especially because I like to procrastinate. So I use time-blocking for time-management, making note of important events and deadlines, as well as being aware of my full schedule so that I can plan accordingly.

I start by adding the most important events and deadlines to my calendar. I use iCalendar because it syncs with all of my devices, and I personally hate using multiple apps for different things 😅 but I know that many prefer to use Google Calendar.

I then build my work around it, keeping in mind specific deadlines. Since I'm now working freelance, I have a lot more work deadlines and projects to keep track of, and dedicating specific dates and blocks of time when I'm working on those projects is extremely helpful. I also schedule in a lunch break, as well as time for rest and social events in the evenings. I try to work the same hours and finish work by 6 PM, so that I can socialise with my friends, go to events, or just relax and read at home.

This method has helped feel in control of my time, but also gives me awareness and how and where I spend my time. I wouldn't have been able to graduate from university twice, while working a part-time job, and doing content creation and volunteering on top of it 😅
