when I say best friends….

I mean I dread them because they are HARD!!!

BUT they are two great ways to work your posterior chain!

When doing these exercises, you want to go heavy. Heavy enough where your completing around 6-10 reps. But not too heavy where your form is compromised. Find the perfect weight for you and get lifting!!

The two leg day staples I love!!!

• RDL: There are several ways to perform the Romanian Deadlift. My favorite way is b stance single leg. I personally have the best mind to muscle connection with this variation. You can also perform the RDL with a barbell, landmine or even cables. With an RDL, you can either focus on targeting your glutes or your hamstrings. In the pictures above, I am targeting my hamstrings. To do this, keep a straighter leg and really push your backs. To target the glutes, bend the knee (working leg) more and still push back those hips.

•HIP THRUSTS: These are a glute burner!!! Grab a barbell or dumbbell and place on hips. Keep your core engaged. Try not to arch back at the bottom of the movement, this could injure your back. Make sure you extend your hips all the way at the top of the movement to get the most out of this exercise.
