Two kids under ONE!

My son was born one week shy of my daughters 1st birthday. I always heard of moms talking about 2 under 2, but I NEVER heard of it being that way for an entire year 😅

I honestly had no idea what to expect and learned a lot in those first few months, and especially the first year.

1. Babies that young do not experience jealousy. That was the number one advice/question I received in the beginning - about how to deal with my daughter being jealous. Not once did she display any sign of jealousy or anger towards the new baby. I just don’t think she saw him as competition at all.

2. I somehow expected my daughter to all of sudden be more independent. I was definitely delusional, but it didn’t bother me because she was still so little and dependent on her mama. At times it required prioritizing one baby over the other, when they both cried at the same time…which sometimes ended up with me in tears too.

3. The capacity my 12 month old had to love her brother was the most incredible thing to witness. I had no idea a child that little could be so compelled to love and care for a baby. I’m so grateful I got to experience her love for her baby brother so early on.

Overall, having two babies so close together was very difficult and had a lot of curveballs. But I definitely wouldn’t have changed a single thing, because I’ve experience some of the best moments and grown a ton as a mom.
