TIPS for buying your first car!😁🤞🏼

I used to drive a 2016 nissan which was bought from my parents & I was paying them back monthly. I felt amazing that day, but let me tell you buying your own car that you WORKED HARD AND SAVED FOR IS A WHOLE OTHER FEELING!!!!!🥰🥰🥰

my first car was a 🍋 & was so shitty. i only had it for 6 months & had to put over 6k into it!! was totally scammed from a secondhand dealership! the car got damaged by some people i didn’t get along with & was an overall mess so i sold it to avoid all problems!

my parents wanted to teach me & had me save up for my own down payment which took two years. Being 18-20 without a car was so fucking hard ESPECIALLY after owning my own. Once i saw how much freedom you got with a car, not having one was horrible! I hate feeling the need to rely on people & it was terrible. After two years of hard saving, I finally had enough. I test drove a VW jetta & toyota corolla as well before making a decision but this one drove the best!

When buying your first car you need to:

RESEARCH BEFORE 🖥️:

• find 3-4 potential options

• pay attention to gas mileage, features, trunk space, exterior & interior

• look around at different dealerships to see price differences (if you find it cheaper at another one but like the color of a different one, sometimes dealers are willing to negotiate to that price)

AT THE DEALERSHIP🤞🏼:

• bring someone with you! have a helping hand to help support your decisions!

• if you researched, you should be confident! researching also makes the process go by faster!

• know what your talking about & STAY confident, don’t let a salesman pressure you into higher payments or add-ons, they always want you to spend more $ than you have to! you will be the one paying for the car! not them!

TEST DRIVE 🚘:

• test drive every car!!!!!! the one i liked most was not the same one after i test drove!

• can hear the radio

• can feel the wheel

• see if the car fits YOU

• LISTEN to your horn - my horn sounds stupid & i didn’t hear until after the process😹

• can feel if it’s a smooth ride

• can feel acceleration

BACK UP SAVINGS 💴:

• always have a pre saved section of money set aside for your car. this helps you have a cushion in case of any car issues, this has definitely helped me & with my old car i was always struggling when something would happen to the car & i had no money to fix it!

• budget money well for at least before getting a legit car payment - this avoids anything happening to your credit & helps you get in the natural habit of saving money

ITS YOUR CAR. NO ONE ELSES🤩:

• with the luxury of getting your first car, it’s YOUR car!!!! meaning no one else’s opinions matter besides your own! don’t let someone talk you out of it, change your mind, pick your car for you, or steer you into the wrong direction. the second i was planning on looking for cars i already had people i knew i didn’t want to discuss the car buying process with. choose & pick your people wisely!
