I’m a Prepper

Growing up I was always fascinated by the ‘End Times’ but nobody would ever talk about it. When I got older I decided to read Revelations on my own but it was a bit confusing. I then read the ‘Left Behind’ series & although it is one man’s opinion, it helped put a few things in perspective for me. It painted a picture of some of the creatures mentioned in Revelations & made it easier to understand that book.

Yesterday with all the cell phones down my husband & I got to talking about everything we still need for “in case” the grid goes down. We’ve never been considered preppers by any means but at least have the knowledge of what to do. We have camping gear but need to go more so we can hone in those skills for worst case scenarios.

All this talk has made me realize that I am a prepper but not in the traditional sense. I am a Christian saved by grace through faith & I have been preparing for the day I meet Jesus face to face. I have been studying Revelations & the ‘End Times’ more thoroughly since COVID. I’ve got lots of notes, several different translations of the Bible, notes in my Bibles & even reading the ‘Left Behind’ series again.

Studying this as a parent makes me realize even more how important it is for my children to know Christ & to see me study his word. We have been doing more Bible stories, more old school Sunday school songs & praying together.

We don’t know what tomorrow holds & we especially don’t know how close or far away the ‘End Times’ are, but I can tell you that we are ready, are you?
