Hi corporate gurlies! Let’s have a #RealTalk : how much #salary is needed for a comfortable life? 👀
As a fresh grad living in KL, let me share on my living expenses:
🏡 Rent: RM800-RM1000/month
🍔 Eating out: RM600/month
🛒 Grocery: RM400/month
💸 Bills: RM300/month (water, electricity, phone, insurance & other subscriptions)
These are usually the basic expenses. But to live a COMFORTABLE life, there are more aspects to look at:
🎤 Entertainment: RM250/month (going out for movies, karaoke, doing fun activities, attending workshops, etc)
🍻 Socializing: RM200/month (grabbing drinks or dinner with friends, cafe meet-ups, etc)
💪 Health: RM100/month (gym/pilates/yoga/etc)
💰 Savings: RM500/month (fixed deposit/EPF/savings account)
‼️ Emergency fund: RM150/month
** this amount could be higher, ideally!
💵 Grand Total: RM3,500
Hence, I do think that fresh grads would need a salary of around RM4,000 to live comfortably. Of course, this is just my opinion and naturally as humans: the higher our income, the higher our purchasing power. Any amount of salary would never be enough/keep us satisfied 😂
