TIPS FOR CHOOSING NURSING SPECIALTY

Choosing a specialty is always one of the harder decisions to make! I went into nursing school thinking I wanted to work with kids. That’s why I became a nurse! I kept my options/mind open, and found I really loved cardiac nursing.

I applied for a bunch of NICU, mother/baby and pediatric jobs and couldn’t get a single interview. However, I was accepted to cardiac jobs! I fell into the field by accident, but couldn’t see myself doing anything different. I always loved the heart, and my first ever clinical was on a cardiac med surg floor. It felt like a sign! I truly love the population I work with and wouldn’t change it for the world. 🫀
