To be honest I LOVE to procrastinate! It’s definitely my downfall, and I’ve been procrastinating on applying to nursing school since 2022!!!!
I could’ve started in 2022, but I decided to put it off due to personal reasons. I wasn’t going to apply until 2025 and then I decided last minute this semester to apply this year. I ended up signing up for the ATI Teas 2 days before the test! I got a 55 on the Teas and the RN program requires a 65 and LPN requires a 55. I could’ve taken the test one more time before applications were due, but I decided on choosing the LPN program for multiple reasons….
1. I had higher chances to get in the LPN program over the RN program.
2. My schools LPN program is only 3 semesters long. My bf and I live on our own so over 2 years of nursing school was not in the cards for me.
3. I talked to friends who’ve done the LPN program who said they loved it and if they had the chance to go back the wouldn’t do it any other way!
4. I DO want to eventually do LPN bridge to RN, but for now the LPN suits my needs. I learn at a slower pace so this program will help me feel comfortable going into the RN program.
I’ve been told by multiple nurses that this was a waste of time and money, but this is my journey and everyone has different experiences and that’s OK!
