I have come SUCH a long way with my relationship with food. I used to yoyo diet, restrict food, binge eat, etc. I am in SUCH a better place now and view food truly as fuel, cook at home a lot and enjoy what I am putting into my body. Some things that truly helped me over time are:

Finding a love with working out. I started mainly by incline walking and now I have fallen in love with weights. Whatever it is, finding a movement you enjoy is game changing. This has helped me view food as fuel because if I restrict and don't eat, I literally have no energy to workout. Calorie literally means energy! You must fuel your body to move it.

I also learned a lot! After all, knowledge is power. I learned that restricting food not only is not sustainable and ends up being a waste of time and lots of stress, but it also ruins your metabolism. It makes your body try to live off of a small amount of food and conserve energy as much as possible. I found out that lifting weights can literally help your body burn more calories at rest and need more to function which means you have to eat more! Knowing I actually have to eat more because my body is burning so much is such a cool feeling and really healing to me. I let myself eat more and I don't gain a ton of weight like I used to think I would. That is simply the magic of weight lifting. It is SO sustainable.
