6 Places to Make Friends as an Adult

Making friends as an adult is hard. If I’m honest, I have almost no friends that live within less than 3 hours away from me. But I’m working to change that. I’ve started connecting with girls in my area at my gym, at fitness classes, and on Instagram. Those are the places that I frequent the most, so it’s been easy for me to strike up conversations or make connections in those places.

I’ve shared a few additional places I think might be good places to meet people in this post, but ultimately the places that you are likely to meet future friends are the places you enjoy spending time (your house doesn’t count). Put yourself out there and try new things, pursue your interests and don’t be afraid to strike up conversations with people.

Making friends is a skill you have to relearn once you reach adulthood. It takes practice and it takes feeling like a fool from time to time. It will likely make you feel really uncomfortable, but you can do it anyway!
