Best time to have kids?

I've been thinking about a question recently: What is the ideal age to have children, if at all? why?

Is it only after attaining a stable job? Or is it when the relationship progresses to a certain extent? Or is it when the income attains a certain level?

Now we have good jobs that earn approximately 200k a year - we own a house. We travel, have experienced some difficult times but now have a good marriage. In YOUR experience, is 28 a good age? Do you wish you waited? Give me the real deal on what to expect. I want both good and bad
