we all need a day off sometimes 💛 but taking a mental health day doesn’t have to equal rotting in bed! it can be an opportunity to rest and recharge

➡️ social media detox
no doomscrolling! overloading dopamine receptors and filling your mind with info about lives that aren’t yours won’t make today better <3
➡️ do something that’s fun to you
whether that’s crafting, social time, passon work, collating/vision boarding, or reading, do one thing that’s just enjoyable!
➡️ indulge in a favorite book or comfort show
let your mind relax and focus on something familiar with your favorite podcast, book, or tv show. (just be careful not to lose yourself in doing this all day)
➡️ prioritize sensory self care
scented soaps/lotions, candles, your comfiest clothes, a yummy snack, a calming playlist. make time for self care that focuses on your five senses to help regulate your nervous system!
➡️ make space for your feelings
do a brain dump, journal, practice mediation/mindfulness/prayer. don’t suppress or ignore what you’re feeling! instead of being critical of your emotions, be curious about them <3
➡️ take the pressure off
be present! don’t worry about tomorrows to-dos, or yesterdays should-have-been’s. all you need to worry about is being here, now, fully
➡️ do one really nice thing for yourself
ie your skincare routine, cooking something good, dressing in your favorite comfy fit. doing something kind and intentional will help you feel more at ease
most importantly, stop beating yourself for needing to take some time! we’re honestly not designed for such a fast paced world. the fact that you need a break from it sometimes is totally normal 💗
