NCLEX STUDY TIPS

NCLEX STUDY TIPS- I took the NCLEX last week and passed on first attempt, here are a few things I learned:

- The questions are a perfect world scenario, remember that all hospital/staff resources are available

- All the info you need to answer the question is in there- don’t make the question more than it is by adding “what if’s”

- Focus on areas you need to review. You know what you know, it’s likely you won’t learn any new information

- You aren’t going to know everything, and that’s ok. Make your best judgement by using frameworks (ABCs, urgent vs non-urgent, expected vs unexpected, etc.)

- Know how to prioritize! There are sooo many prioritization questions (whether it’s who to see first, or which action to take first)

- Don’t stress about the number of questions you receive. Many of people pass whether they get 85 or 150 questions!

- Practice questions are your best friend! I recommend using ATIs NCLEX practice exams because they simulate what you’ll see on test day!

- Take a deep breath, you got this! You’re meant to do hard things- you made it through nursing school after all!
