Movies coming out in 2024 📺🎬

1. Despicable Me 4, 2024

– Expectations: Given the success of the previous films, it’s likely that “Despicable Me 4” will continue the humor and heartwarming storylines involving Gru, his family, and the Minions. Fans can anticipate more family-friendly comedy and adventure.

2. Deadpool & Wolverine, 2024

– Expectations: This film is highly anticipated due to the iconic characters and the return of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine alongside Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool. Fans are looking forward to witty banter, intense action sequences, and a blend of humor and drama.

3. Kraven the Hunter, 2024

– Expectations: As part of Sony’s Spider-Man Universe, “Kraven the Hunter” is expected to delve into the origins and motivations of the titular character, potentially adding depth to the anti-hero/villain genre.

4. Bob Marley: One Love, 2024

⭐️7.0/10

– It's fine, just nothing all that memorable.

I had a pleasant enough time viewing 'Bob Marley: One Love', though it does kinda seem a bit hollow post-watch - as in I don't feel like I've learned much nor actually seen that much, the movie has like three noteworthy events but then that's kinda it. The music from those involved also didn't feel amazingly utilised, I guess they didn't want it to be too jukebox-y. Kingsley Ben-Adir does well in the lead role as Bob Marley himself. I'm not a Marley superfan or anything close, I basically only know his biggest hits, but the resemblance of Ben-Adir seemed off to me - a thought that was only solidified when the real Marley appears via archive footage at the end. Perhaps that's just me, though. Lashana Lynch gives a good performance, spearheading the rest of the cast who are alright; interesting to see James Norton, Michael Gandolfini too... even if I didn't realise it was Gandolfini until the credits. Overall, it does feel like the film only scratches the surface of Marley's life. I wanted more from it, but to be fair it is still a decent flick in my opinion.

5. The Fall Guy, 2024

⭐️7.0/10

– The Fall Guy is a movie about making a movie. Aaron Taylor-Johnson plays an action star who's stuntman is played by Ryan Gosling... who has a real stuntman doing his stunts. The Fall Guy is filled with this type of third-degree meta-ness. I found it amusing. The intro to the early screening called it a love letter to stuntmen. This is an accurate statement. Everyone who loves movies, action fans specifically, owe so much of their enjoyment to stuntmen. The movie showcases so many beautiful stunts. It truly is a celebration of that profession.

This is also heavily a love story. I normally don't go for that, but this one hit me in all the right ways. I felt all of the emotions they wanted me to feel. I think most people will enjoy The Fall Guy. But the ones who will love it the most are people who are fascinated by the artistry of in-camera action, or fans of romantic comedies. Also, we need an Oscar for stunt work asap.
