i wish i knew this before getting 老花眼 😭

just wanted to share about 老花眼 (presbyopia) today cos my husband recently got "diagnosed" with it in his mid-30s! quite early at his age, i know.... but lets #BeReal , with all the screen time these days, no surprise our eyes get more strained compared to our parents era ba...

my husband always had perfect 10/10 vision. but recently, he couldn’t read the small print on our cat’s medicine label. he said it was blurry, but to me, it was super clear... so that's when i suspected something.

so on our next off day, we went to see an optician. jeng jeng jeng.... really confirm 老花眼 but the optician could tell that it was recent only la.... cos not so jialat yet. anyway, we went to lenskart cos i saw they got 1-for-1 specs deal, why not, right?

but here’s the shocker…… presbyopia lenses got extra charges de!!!! they are not same price as myopia lenses... (but we still got the 1-for-1 deal la) BUT WALAO WHY NOBODY TALK ABT THIS BEFORE!!!!! we considered progressive lenses cos they’re more convenient for his office work (need to see both clients and computer screen).

cos if he uses just reading glasses, he’ll have to take them off when talking to people, otherwise he’ll get giddy. plus, he’ll see people like hippos..… omg lol.

now i understand why aunties always hang their specs low and say people fat. their lenses make people look wider la…

the prices for progressive lenses… omg, we nearly fainted... cos can go up to $600 just for the lenses, excluding the frame. so, the total can hit $1k, depending on what you choose. SHOCKING!!!

hope this post has been informative for y'all! it was a life lesson for me.... i rarely read anything about presbyopia so the whole thing came as a shocker to me. aging is really not easy and i find it so hard to accept it...

but oh well, its part n parcel of life and im ready to share it with everyone that is growing old too! HAHA
