✨Brand: Onitsuka Tiger

🛒Product Item: Mexico 66 Slip On

I first got the Mexico 66 Slip On - Rose Gold version as a birthday gift from my hubby, and recently, I wore them for 13 days straight on a trip from Singapore to Tokyo and then to Sapporo. Here's why I believe it’s the best!

👍Why I like it: Comfort and Versatility

Japan is known for its walking culture, with an average of at least 10,000 steps a day. During my trip, I wore it everywhere: Disneyland, sightseeing in the mountains, and shopping. Despite having wide feet, these shoes gradually molded to the shape of my feet, providing unparalleled comfort. Whether I was navigating the busy streets of Tokyo or hiking in the mountains, it never let me down.

Where to buy: 🇯🇵

Before heading to Japan, I didn't plan to buy another pair since I already had the rose gold one.

However, I walked into a Onitsuka Tiger store in Sapporo, I discovered that they were offering an extra 5% discount. I couldn't resist and ended up grabbing another pair, this time the Birch Midnight colour instead. I also got my hubby to buy a matchy set with me 😂

💰 Price:

Singapore is retailing at: S$160

Japan Retail Price: ¥12,100

Tax Refund Price: ¥11,000

After 5% Discount, Price: ¥10,450

Currency: S$1: ¥115

Final Price: S$90.87 (43.2% cheaper!!!)

✨ A Must-Buy in Japan

Given Japan is the home brand of Onitsuka Tiger, if you ever find yourself in Japan, visiting an Onitsuka Tiger store should be on your list.

Tips:

* Try to avoid department store, as they tend to charge an extra 1.55% tax refund fee. Onitsuka Tiger stores offer full tax refund with no additional charges

* Try to visit an Onitsuka Tiger store that away from the crowd/ tourist (eg. Shinjuku, Ginza). There tend to be less stock available.

* Remember to bring your passport with you for tax refund purpose!

* Try the shoe size in Singapore so you know the exact model you are looking for. There are too many tourists, and the staffs are often too busy to tend to you.

That’s all for my tips today. Feel free to check out my previous post on luxury shopping in Japan!

Happy shopping!
