✨Non-traditional things we did at our wedding ✨

1. we chose to do a tasting of the four elements ceremony because of how much we talked about the different aspects of marriage during our premarital counseling. having a physical representation of our vows to stay not only through the sweet but also the bitter, the sour and heat. it was also meaningful to me as it’s an african american wedding tradition.

2. we chose to jump the broom because it’s an african american wedding tradition. our officiant read about the significance of it before we jumped.

3. we did a double first look. i had never seen him in his AGSUs and he had never seen me in my dress. it made the moment really special to see each other all dressed up for our wedding

4. we spent the entire day together besides when we got dressed and right before our first look. we wanted to have as many moments together as we possibly could on our special day. #weddingtraditions #culturalwedding #weddings #milso #armywife
