Why SLP?

I found out what a speech and language pathologist was from a regular that came into the restaurant I was working at. This customer had a stroke within the past few years which resulted in difficulty with spoken communication. Just because he demonstrated difficulty with spoken communication DOES NOT MEAN HE DID NOT UNDERSTAND. He fully understood when I spoke to him and he utilized gestures and drawings to place his orders. After a conversation with his daughter she explained he was seeing a speech pathologist, from here I became very intrigued since I enjoyed helping him when he came in. After some research I decided I was going to be an SLP and am now living my dreams as a CF-SLP.
