i wish i knew these before college 🎓

📖 your dorm is more than a place to sleep

- my dorm became a place for me and my friends to hang out, eat, do projects or homework, cry, and just do college together. it’s so important to keep your space clean and give it some personality!

📖 keep up with your schoolwork

- once you get behind on your work, it becomes so difficult to catch up again

📖 take time for yourself

- it’s so easy to surround yourself with people while you’re on campus. it’s important to make sure you take time for yourself otherwise you’ll get burnt out

📖 get to know your classmates

- the class pictured was only about 12 students, but it became so much more enjoyable when we all knew each other. you may also see your classmates in other classes, and each person has their own strengths which is great for studying together!

📖 explore around campus

- there’s so many things to do around campus and so many great picture spots. exploring with friends is a great way to make memories!

📖 finding the right people will take time

- most of the people in your freshman friend group won’t become close friends (ironically, these two were in the freshman friend group with me but that’s besides the point). you’ll make and lose friends and that’s okay! most of the people i’m friends with now became my friends in my 2nd or 3rd semester
