My favorite movies for the girls who were made to feel a little too much 🫶🏻
1. Lady Bird- one of my favorite coming-of-age movies. If you’ve ever struggled with your relationship with a strict parent, this one’s for you.
2. The Secret Life of Walter Mitty- so hard to explain so just watch it please!! It’s all about stopping to enjoy life’s little moments and being present in your own life.
3. Beautiful Boy- this movie isn’t something I could relate to at its core as it focuses on drug addiction. But it is truly brilliant, emotional and real. I couldn’t help but recommend it.
4. The Perk of Being a Wallflower- for every thought daughter who spent her teenage years on the sidelines quietly listening, waiting for life to begin 🤍the book is even better!!
5. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind- my favorite romance movie. A love story about two people who fall so deeply in love that when they break each other’s hearts, they undergo a procedure to forget each other. It’s a stunning movie about two people who feel a little too much. Something I resonate with :)
6. Stand By Me- my favorite coming-of-age movie! It really focuses on the value of friendship and companionship, especially growing up.
7. Good Will Hunting- this is a beautiful film that follows a man born into hardship who escapes his youth when it’s discovered that he is a genius. Such a lovely story of self discovery.
8. Into the Wild- one of my personal favorites. The true story of a young man who is angry at the world for its inherent selfishness and greed. He abandons his conventional life and goes on a solo trip into the Alaskan wilderness.
9. Dead Poets Society- my favorite movie in the world. A teacher at an all boys boarding school breaks away from the norm and educates the boys on finding the space to be themselves through poetry and finding their voice.
