OUR DIY GRAD SHOOT ✨

Decide to make this post because I couldn’t find much inspo for photoshoot locations within Nanyang Technological University for my graduation photoshoot!!

The locations we decided to go for were:

📍 Yunnan Garden 🪴

📍 The Hive 🐝

📍 Library 📚

📍 Gaia 🌎

📍 The Wave 🌊

📍 NTU Signboard 💙❤️

The equipment we used:

✔️ DSLR

✔️ Light Reflector

✔️ iPhone (for wide angled shots)

General Tips ✨:

🪄If the background of the photograph is something that can be centred like the Yunnan Gate or the NBS sign on the wall, try and stand in the middle to give more symmetry to the photograph! (see photos 1,15)

🪄 Try to maintain balance in the photo such that if the background has something on one side, stand in the foreground on the other side! (see photos 4, 5, 14)

🪄 Turn on gridlines on your camera if you’re using your phone - it’s a lifesaver!!!

🪄 Imagine your image is a 9-grid, try staying in the the bottom left or bottom right 4-grids instead of always being in the centre!! (see photos 6, 7, 8, 10, 11)

🪄 For the NTU Signboard, we tried placing ourselves such that the we blocked the least amount of alphabets/words!

⚠️‼️ Remember to bring along sunblock and water, especially important for the outdoor locations due to the super duper hot weather 🥵

⛔️ Do NOT put yourself in danger by standing in the middle of the road to take pictures (i know the ntu sign is hard but no!!) or lean over/reach over a pond/railings too much. 🥺 ALWAYS watch where you are going instead of moving while you are looking through the viewfinder 📷 !!!
