i took a part-time degree from the end of 2019 till early 2023 in Singapore University of Social Sciences while also working full-time in the early stages of my career. although it wasn't easy, i have no regrets as this arrangement allowed me to graduate after 3 years with more savings, more working experience (a few progressions already), some great networks from uni classes & a solid position in my industry so i basically hit the ground running after my final submission 🎓

the not so good side is the fact that it is TOUGH -- between reaching home after midnight from school, and waking up at 5am to cram some projects and revisions before work, those days felt extremely painful 🥲 project meetings were held on weekends or late at night as most of us were working full-time, so social life was a no-no for most of my 3 years there.

i am thankful for my colleagues and friends that were understanding enough to give me the space to juggle everything!! it is so important that you have a strong support system if you choose to do this!

so was it worth it?

yes, to me! it may not seem like it while you are going through it, but a little time managements skills, a great support system and some dedication, you will emerge a more responsible and capable individual ✨

the best part is the feeling of pride -- knowing that you did it on the day of your convocation!
