1. Choose someone who is equally yoked. The Lord says do not be yoked together with unbelievers. That means if someone’s faith is not as strong as yours, you shouldn’t be with them. Don’t waste each other’s time just because you think they’re cute or because they’re a good person.

2. Don’t get distracted by a romantic relationship from what God has called you to do in life. This is dangerous and is the devil tempting you. Hold each other accountable in reading the Word every day and don’t lose focus of what’s important.

3. Stay pure. EVEN IF you aren’t a “virgin”, you can be made clean & pure again with a promise to God. Practice abstinence. God tell us that it is His will for us to avoid sexual immoralities, no exceptions.

4. Avoid arguing. Yes, arguments can be healthy, but small petty arguments are pointless and unnecessary. Stay focused on putting God first in your relationship.

5. This one is obvious, but pray together. Allow yourselves to be vulnerable in prayer with each other, it will bring you so much closer.

6. Hold each other accountable in your individual journeys with the Lord. Are they reading the Bible everyday? If they come to you about a problem, are you asking them to pray about it? Are you praying for them?
