I love keeping my budget tight for my weekly groceries because I like eating simple and affordable foods.
⭐️I budget $400 for my monthly groceries.
✨I like to do a grocery run once a week to restock on my protein/ produce/ fruit section.
✨I try to stay at $100 weekly average. Some weeks I go over that, but it evens out throughout the month since some items have a longer shelf life 😌
🔵This is how I am able to stick to my budget:
1️⃣ Plan my meals:
- I eat the same meals every day which makes my food menu easy and simple
- I go for foods that can be used in variety of meals.
Ex: chicken, beef, avocados, potatoes, rice, etc.
2️⃣ Make a list:
- I check my inventory first and add anything that needs to be purchased based on my meal plan.
- some groceries don't require a weekly purchase, like rice, eggs, beans, pasta, etc.
-the weekly buys are always perishables like fruits and vegetables (which I include in every meal)
3️⃣ Smart shopping:
-buying in bulk is cheaper when you base it off ounces per serving.
-I often will opt for store brand because I am not a picky eater 🤷🏻♀️
-I ALWAYS check the weekly sales ads and compare across different stores.
I often will opt to shop at one store based on overall savings and convenience.
Sometimes going the extra mile for a small savings ends up costing more. Like driving 15 minutes to a store just to save a dollar... no thanks 😂
- COUPONS: I always check my phone to squeeze extra savings.
